Herb Reed of " The Platters" one of the most successful vocal groups of all time, passed away at the age of 83 on Monday in Boston after a long illness.
With a string of Number 1 hits on the Billboard charts including "Twilight Time," "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes," "Only You" "My Prayer and " Great Pretender", The Platters group toured up until 2011 with the only original member Herb Reed.
