Elton John Says Lady Gaga Has Written The New Gay Anthem

Elton John says the title track to Lady Gaga’s new album will replace ‘I Will Survive’ as the premier gay anthem.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, John was full of praise for the controversial pop icon.

He gushed “I love her, and I love her ability to write. I love the songs she writes.”

He said he probably wouldn’t get a chance to collaborate on anything for Lady Gaga’s forthcoming album Born This Way, reasoning that it’s already finished.

John had heard tracks from the album and claimed that the title track is set to replace Gloria Gaynor’s classic ‘I Will Survive’ as the quintessential gay anthem.

He said, “‘Born This Way,’ which is the title song, will completely get rid of Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive.’ This is the new ‘I Will Survive.’ That was the gay anthem. This is the new gay anthem. Actually, it’s not a gay anthem - it can apply to anybody.”

Born This Way is set to be released next year.
