The bad luck began when Bloc Party guitarist Russell Lissack was bitten by a lion.
It was the first in a series of bizarre turns for the lead guitarist for Bloc Party and new Ash member.
Spinner reports that while playing with a lion cub in an animal sanctuary in South Africa on tour with Ash, Lissack was bitten, drawing blood.
He went to hospital for treatment and a tetanus shot. Shortly afterwards, the hospital was sealed off due to two men dying of a mystery virus.
Lissack narrowly avoided being locked in, but did manage to get in a car accident on his way back to their hotel.
Thankfully, no one was hurt in the accident and Lissack has probably used up all his bad luck for the next decade.
