The Australian Recording Industry of Australia (ARIA) has announced The Church, Models, Johnny Young, John Williamson and The Loved Ones will be inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame for 2010.

The Church started out in Sydney in 1980 and gathered worldwide momentum with hits such as ‘Under The Milky Way’, ‘The Unguarded Moment’ and ‘Almost With You. 2010 marks their 30th anniversary.

Models kicked off in Melbourne in 1979. They were around for 5 albums and the hits ‘I Hear Motion’, ‘ Out Of Mind Out Of Sight’ and ‘Barbados’.

Johnny Young is an Australian songwriting legend, having penned ‘Smiley’ for Ronnie Burns and ‘The Real Thing’ for Russell Morris as well as his own hit ‘Step Back’.

The Loved Ones from 1965 had that massive hit with The Loved One, covered by INXS in the 80s.

John Williamson is without a doubt Australia’s country superstar with more than 4 million album sales to his name.

The 2010 ARIA Hall of Fame will take place at the Hordern Pavilion in Sydney on October 27.
