The Gentleman's Club is happening again. Minimalist mastermind, Guerre (aka Lavurn Lee) uses twisted synth patterns and barely there vocals to recreate the feel of over compressed urban slow jams. While drawing on the self proclaimed influences of Jeff Buckley, Bjork and Sigur Ros, Guerre manages to convey weightlessness through his intensely cerebral and enveloping live production. Namine is the R&B GAZE project of Darcy Baylis, recently fleshed out into a full-bodied 3 piece. His latest jam is an ode to Pocahontas and features Marcus Whale of Collarbones.
