THE BOXING TOSTADOS, BASSICK INSTINCT, DEAD SALESMEN DUO
The Boxing Tostados are dusting off their drums and horns for a reunion of epic proportions! Since their heyday in Melbourne and Ballarat in the late 80s/early 90s, this six piece ska-reggae-funk-big-band fronted by Matt Doll Mavis are bringing it all back to Smith Street for one reckless night only, on Saturday 30 June at Yah Yah's.
The night will feature a very diverse line up with the electronic-rap-rock powerhouse project Bassick Instinct as well as the much loved and poetic Dead Salesmen duo, who also started in Ballarat around the same time as the Boxing Tostados.
Bassick Instinct are an electro/house hip-hop newly formed duo featuring Grumpy Savidas and Umalicious with special guest vocalist Miss Baby Lemonade. The live show consists of a DJ, MC on vocals and all original music but they can throw in some covers if requested. Sounding similar to Gorillaz, Cut Copy, Gossip, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Presets.
Razzle dazzle your way into Yah Yah’s, 99 Smith Street, Fitzroy on Saturday 30 June. Kickin’ off at 9pm. $10 on the door.
