THE VIBRAPHONIC ORKESTRA +MIDDLE C+ VIBEMASTER+ THE IMPRINTS
On Thursday 24th May, Fitzroy bar Yah Yah's will host a night of live music featuring local acts The Vibraphonic Orkestra and The Imprints.
Yah Yah's known for showcasing live music, is ideally suited to host these diverse and original groups. With support from DJ's Middle C playing laid back righteous reggae grooves, and Vibemaster playing progressive afro beats The night promises to inspire and amaze, all for a mere $5 entry-fee.
The Vibraphonic Orkestra, with their unique mix of afro-funktional Soul and Jazztec Dub, straddle the divide between electronic, organic, digital and live. Based in Melbourne, this nine piece Dub-Blues band have amazed audiences from the red desert of Central Australia to the back alley bars of Melbourne. Their signature sound is built on a foundation of deep bass and heavy drums with rich arrangements driven by The Almighty Horns of Navarone.
The Imprints are a Melbourne based duo featuring Willow Stahlut on violin and Linden Lester on drums. Combining elements from Gypsy, Reggae and Electronic genres, they perform original compositions by creating live loops using the violin to emulate the sounds of bass, guitar and layering of a warm string section as a foundation for beautiful melodies and expressive improvisation.
